Dells Area Cruisers donate $1000 to Kops for Kids in 2005
Some background on the 'Dells Area Cruisers Car Club' - the club is comprised of membership from Columbia and surrounding counties, with special interests in the restoration, driving and showing of classic and muscle cars of the past. The bulk of membership comes from the Portage/Dells area and they host their monthly meetings in Portage (L & L Custom Performance Shop, Co. CX). Additionally the Club has in recent months awarded youth scholarships in Portage, Wisconsin Dells and Baraboo. |

During the year the Dells Area Cruisers make special strides to not only share their car experiences with the public, but also give extra effort in supporting other area youth organizations. For the past several years one of those organizations has been the 'Kops for Kids' program. During the past year the Club has provided cookouts at area car events, hosted car cruises and shows in raising funds to be donated exclusively to benefit area youth.
At a recent Club meeting in Portage, the membership presented 'Kops for Kids' representative Dennis Kluge with a donation of $1,000. Kluge thanked the Club for continuing to be one of the major contributing sponsors of 'Kops for Kids' program, allowing it to reach out to several hundred children annually. Additionally the 'Dells Area Cruisers' wish to thank the car enthusiasts that attended any of their events, the businesses and individuals that have assisted with food and other donations, as well as their membership for working the events to make this donation possible. |
